Centor volunteers raise £3,533 for Haven House Children’s Hospice in the one day retail challenge

On the 25th January 2019, sixteen Centor volunteers took part in the Haven House Children’s Hospice retail challenge. Four teams were allocated a shop each and were tasked with raising as much money as possible. Volunteers came with a wide range of ideas for fundraising, from cake sales, raffles, to special one-off promotions.

Throughout the course of the day all four shops received visits from members of the public, friends and family who all showed their support to the charity. By close of play we had raised a combined total of £3,533 for a fantastic cause.

Haven House has supported over 900 families, looking after children and teenagers with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.

In the hospice children benefit from play activities, a range of therapies, as well as day and overnight stays. The charity also runs support groups for parents and siblings, including complementary therapy designed to reduce stress and anxiety.
