Centor’s Year in Review
What an eventful year 2016 was, with Brexit, Trump, and everything in between. It was a pretty good year for Centor, so we decided it was a nice time to take a look at some of the highlights.
Awards
Last year Centor was nominated for 11 awards in seven separate awards ceremonies. We won three of those, including Insurance Broker of the Year – UK at the British Insurance Awards, a huge achievement which we are extremely proud of. We also won Commercial Lines Broker of the Year at the UK Broker Awards, and Best Insurance Claims Department of the Year at the Claims Innovation Awards. We were selected as a Great Place to Work in the small business category for the seventh consecutive year.
People
Our employees are what makes us so successful, and 2016 was no different. As well as retaining fantastic staff, many of which have been with us for a decade or longer, we hired several new team members including two additions to the Property team, a new compliance officer and a marketing executive. Meet the Centor team here.
Charity Ball
We held our first ever Charity Ball in September and it was a huge success. We raised nearly £40,000 for three charities, Alzheimer’s Research UK, Cystic Fibrosis Trust, and Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.
Other highlights include:
- Achieving 12% organic financial growth.
- Being re-accredited with Investors in People Gold.
- Joining UNA, the independent broker alliance.
- Launching our new website, which we’ve had fantastic feedback on so far
- Increasing our Twitter following by over 60%.
But none of this is quite as important as the fact that once again, 98% of our clients chose to renew with us, proof we continue to offer the best possible service and risk management.
Here’s to another great year in 2017.
