Centor becomes carbon neutral

Centor is pleased to announce we are now a carbon neutral business.

As part of our approach to taking responsibility for our company’s impact on the environment, we have partnered with climate and sustainable development experts ClimateCare. By working together, we are able to offset the carbon emissions associated with electricity and gas consumption, car journeys and other transport usage.

As well as taking actions to reduce our footprint through using environmentally friendly products and motion sensor lights, unavoidable emissions will be offset through several environmental projects. These include the award-winning LifeStraw Carbon for Water Project, which delivers safe water to more than four million people in Kenya. This generates significant carbon reductions and enhances the health of local communities by reducing exposure to waterborne diseases.

Other projects include the provision of clean cook stoves in Ghana, which significantly improve health while cutting emissions and reducing deforestation.

Paul Field,  Claims and Support Director, says reducing our carbon footprint is an important part of Centor’s corporate social responsibility.

“We are delighted that working with ClimateCare has helped us understand how we can integrate action to tackle climate change and improve people’s lives. Becoming carbon neutral is part of Centor’s wider corporate social responsibility plan following our becoming B Corp Certified earlier this year.”
