Centor staff members speak to teens about working in insurance

Two Centor staff members took time out of their busy days recently to speak to college students about the insurance and risk profession.

Oriel Gavin, Centor’s compliance director, supported a CII Discover Risk event for students in Finchley last month, and our private clients manager Graham Morgan-Tolworthy supported one in Croydon last week.

Both events consisted of an introduction to the risk profession, case studies from practitioners, a group competition assessing the risks of different scenarios and discussing opportunities for work in the insurance industry.

Oriel says the workshop was positive for the insurance industry. “I thoroughly enjoyed it and was really impressed with the content and delivery,” she says.

The Discover Risk workshops are run by the Chartered Insurance Institute and aim to promote a career in the insurance sector.

Organiser Caspar Bartington says: “Our Discover Risk events are a great way for students to understand more about the insurance profession. The events work best with support from professionals and I am grateful for Oriel and Graham’s insight on their careers, which students found useful.
