Health and safety training increases the awareness of people about the risks they face in the workplace, the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) has said.
Caroline Holden, commercial affairs director at IOSH, said people need a good understanding of this subject area, after it was revealed that more than 130,000 workers were injured and 180 killed last year in UK workplaces.
IOSH, which was founded in 1945, is the chartered body for health and safety professionals and has more than 35,000 individual members.
