What is Mid Net Worth (MNW) and what is High Net Worth (HNW) household insurance? Which am I?

Different insurers have different definitions of MNW & HNW client. As a guide, a MNW client would either be a client of emerging wealth aged between 25-40, or a client who pays around £1,500 for household insurance. A HNW client would pay in excess of £1,500 and could be any age.

 

When does marine transit cover begin?

Marine transit cover begins when the freight forwarders pick up your goods and ceases at  the time they deliver them.

 

What is Index linking? Why is my sum insured for insurance index linked?

Most policies for insurance – be they for buildings or contents or some other tangible property, will “index link” the sums insured. This helps to protect you against inflationary increases, such as the cost of rebuilding your home, to ensure that you are not “under- insured”. If you are under-insured, your insurer can reduce the amount of your claim proportionally or even in some cases refuse to pay the claim at all.
