The video made by Gwent Police to warn about the dangers of texting and driving has received more hits than Usain Bolt's world record 100 metre sprint.

Over six million views of the video have been noted over the last month and it tells the story of a teenager who kills two of her friends after she ploughs into another car while using her mobile telephone.

Gwent's Chief Constable Mick Giannasi, who is also National Association of Chief Police Officers lead for Roads Policing, said the force is working on a schools pack to give every teenager over the age of 14 the chance to see the footage and to learn about the dangers of using a mobile while behind the wheel.

"I want as many young people, and indeed families, as possible to view the entire film, which details the consequences of such a tragedy on communities like ours," he stated.
