Investment in People Award

We are delighted to announce that Centor have been shortlisted for the Investment in People award by the UK Broker awards judging panel.

These awards are the UK’s only broker-focused insurance industry awards, which recognise both excellence and innovation within the UK broking sector.

The award finals are held in London in September and we look forward to joining our colleagues in the broking community at this prestigious event.

 

British Insurance Awards Reception

Paul Field

Our Systems and Quality director Paul Field attended the British Insurance Awards reception at The Merchant Taylors Hall on 4th June 2008.  Paul said “we are delighted to have our hard work in this area recognised.  Training, be it technical, IT or soft skills based, is a core strand of our business strategy and is demonstrative of our commitment to being an Investor in People”.

 

When the Employee is at Fault

Every so often the debate about prosecution of individual employees resurfaces.  Some employers hold the view that prosecutions of employees are rare, that the occasions when employees are at fault are frequent and that there is a need to "make an example of someone" from time to time.  It was Voltaire who speaking of the hanging of Admiral Byng following a major naval disaster said that the English had done this "pour encourager les autres".

On Monday 21 April this new website was launched for Centor.  Built by Easykey Furneux Pelham, Hertfordshire this website now sports a smart CMS which means that we can easily manage the content of our own website making it much easier to keep you regularly informed about our services and news.

Fundraising

Following a day of fundraising activities organised by its employees, including Fancy Dress, Look Through the Keyhole, Worst Haircut and various eating and sponsored shaving events, Centor raised over £4,000 for Children in Need.
